The Bunaken National Park in Manado is one of the famous diving spots in the world. The water is usually calm and visibility often exceeds 30 meters, water temperature remains about 30C all year round. Excellent diving conditions can be found any time of the year.
Coral reef formation begins with flat reef to about 3 meter deep, then slopes down forming underwater valleys, or drops off vertically down to hundreds of meters. You can found a tremendous collection of marine life thrives: red and orange encrusting sponges, Chrismas-tree worms, basket and tube sponges, , sea-fan, bright colored crinoids, giant tunicates, sea-whips, nudibranch, transparent and red-striped coral shrimps, lobsters, giant Napoleon wrasse, angel fish turtles, blue ribbon eels, stingray and eagle ray, snapper, groupers, tuna, barracudas and dolphins. Also you can try the exciting World War II wrecks in 25 meters of water.
